The Secret Cottage Tour is in the North Cotswolds near the local market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and close to Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Chipping Norton and Woodstock. We are not far from the larger towns of Oxford, Birmingham, Cheltenham and Cirencester where you can have a great shopping experience. The smaller Cotswold villages of Broadwell, Lower Slaughter, Snowshill, Toddington and Kingham are all famous for being delightfully historical and quaint. Pretty Cotswold market towns include Witney, Northleach, Banbury, and Charlbury. You will notice that Cotswold villages and towns are built from a beautiful, pale-yellow limestone which is famous of the area, a warm, honey-coloured Cotswold stone. Cotswold thatched cottages are typical of the area and always look delightfully cosy in the winter with their log burning fires.
