Many people ask us what’s included in our Cotswolds day trip itinerary.
But we can’t give too much away because that’s part of what makes Secret Cottage Tour a secret!
You’ll already know from reading our tour information, that the day is packed full of surprises and will leave you with memories you’ll treasure forever.
Whatever the time of year, there’s something for everyone as the Cotswolds is stunning from Spring to Winter. Right now we’re enjoying a spectacular autumn with colours that will take your breath away. The sunlight glimpses through red leaves and bounces off the honey-coloured limestone houses, illuminating everything and turning it gold.
I don’t know about you, but autumn is often a time of reminiscing and conjuring up fond memories. We’ve been thinking back to some of the places we’ve visited over the past couple of years with our visitors.
Bledington
Bledington is a pretty village with a population of around 500. Running through the green at Bledington is a lovely stream that has resident ducks! There’s a Victorian maypole too and the area is rich in Morris Dancing history.
Combine the beauty of the village with the St Leonard’s Norman Church and a 15th century Inn (which doubles up as the village post office) and it’s easy to see why Bledington won the Community Category in 2004 Gloucestershire village of the year.
Chipping Campden
Chipping Campden is a beautiful, small market town flanked by hills and seeped in history.
The market hall stands in the centre of the high street. It was built in 1627 and is considered to be one of the most important buildings in the area.
As well as some amazing events that take place in the town – such as the ‘Cotswold Olimpick Games’ and one of the UK’s leading music festivals – Chipping Campden is known as a centre for the Cotswold Arts and Crafts Movement.
These are just two of the many places we’ve enjoyed taking our guests to.
Don’t forget, every Secret Cottage Tour is bespoke, so you never know what you might see. You could find yourself driving through tiny villages, enjoying unspoilt views or driving past National Trust properties. Why not book today and enjoy the magic of the Cotswolds with us!
