Hello, I’m Becky from Secret Cottage. I’m married and have two teenage children.

My fantastic team and I run a day tour of picturesque hidden Cotswold villages that includes an invitation into my private home for a traditional Cotswold cream tea served inside Secret Cottage.

Cotswolds Villages Tour

Whether you’re looking for a Great Daytrip from London or Oxford, are staying here on holiday or just a local who wants to explore more of the area, our Secret Cottage Cotswolds Guided Tours will exceed your expectations. The six hour guided tour of North Cotswold villages, combined with an invitation into my private thatched cottage, runs every day throughout the year.

One of the Secret Cottage team will take you in our 8 seater minibus to some of the lesser known hidden villages that are inaccessible by public transport. The unspoilt villages that I’ve carefully selected are made up of thatched cottages, clipped lawns and dusty lanes, perfectly illustrating what life was like in the 16th century.
Having lived in the area for nearly thirty years, my local knowledge is invaluable to visitors and you’ll experience it as if you are a local.

I’m lucky to have travelled extensively throughout the world. However, I know what it’s like to get home, only to discover you’ve missed an amazing secret, all because you weren’t familiar with the area. I also know that we’re all fascinated to see inside an ancient cottage and see how people live their lives. It was these two things that gave me the idea for the Secret Cottage tour. I’m fortunate enough to live in one of these fairytale thatched cottages and I love showing people what I experience every day!
I’ll make sure you don’t miss anything in this unspoilt part of England. My team and I are here as your personal Cotswold Tourist Guide to take you on a unique and memorable day through hidden villages we know and love.

My cottage is called ‘Secret Cottage’ and is quintessentially perfect for guests to explore and experience how the English live in the Cotswolds. Inside everything is old and quaint. There are three inglenook fireplaces which are open log fires used to heat the cottage, the winding stairs and floors are made from original elm planks and the heavily beamed listed cottage is nearly 500 years old!

During the afternoon, you’ll visit Secret Cottage which is my private thatched home for a cream tea. You’ll enjoy eating homemade scones fresh from the Aga, served with thick delicious clotted cream. These are essential for the traditional English Cotswold cream tea which is served on the finest Spode bone china. The unique experience of having tea in the cottage is without doubt something that you will never forget.
All our guests are overwhelmed by the experience of actually being invited into a private home with many of them describing it as fairyland. Increasingly, many say Secret Cottage was the highlight of their trip to the UK. Many return to take the tour again with friends and family.

My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the pretty Cotswold villages such a contrast to London's hectic pace. We were collected from Moreton in the Marsh station so no need to drive down what a relief & so relaxing. We loved the Secret Cottage what a place to live & the food & drink wow. As though our stomachs were not full enough we were then treated to Becky's Scones with cream simply gorgeous!! Will definitely recommend to our London friends

This was our first trip to The Cotswolds. It was so unbelievably quaint and pretty. All the villages we saw were totally unspoilt, especially Great Tew, It was like stepping into another world.

Thank you so much for your advise and the list you gave us was so useful for recommending further places to visit. I don't think we missed anything.

If you are considering doing this tour, think no longer! Book it and sit back for the most wonderful adventure. Take my word for it, this tour has it all. Becky is warm and funny, and makes you feel at home instantly. The food is wonderful, fresh and local. The secret cottage is warm and inviting- something a tourist may see on the outside and wonder what it would be like to go in. Not only did we get to go in, eat and relax by the fire, we were made to feel at home as if we were neighbors. I will never forget that feeling, MAGICAL! We saw everything we were hoping to see of the English countryside and loved it. It was my favorite part of my 10 day trip through England.

I'm writing on behalf of my parents who did the Secret cottage tour this week.
Both Mum and Dad had a fantastic time and came back from the trip full of smiles.
They loved actually being inside the cottage and being able to look around.
They had amazingly good things to say about the food especially the afternoon cream tea!
They loved being out and about and seeing some of the less travelled Cotswolds villages and the overall pace of the tour suited them perfectly.
All in all they had a great day and we would highly recommend this trip.

It's not often I write reviews. Something has to be exceptional and memorable.

The Secret Cottage tour run by Cotswold Tourism Tours ticks all the boxes for a fantastic day out. The North Cotswolds area is truly stunning and seems to encapsulate all the myth and splendour of the English countryside.

It was a real privilege to be welcomed into Becky's home to share and enjoy her hospitality. The food and drink was superb and every detail was just as we imagined that quintessential country home to be like, even down to the scent of the apple log fire and natural glow of beautiful antique furniture. Give yourself a treat one day; take the Secret Cottage tour and experience rural England at its finest.

Wow, that was sensational Becky!

You certainly know where all the unspoilt villages are, now we can go back to a few of them in our hire car and explore the other ones that you’ve recommended.

Your cottage is fabulous, what a fantastic interior and John hasn’t stopped talking about your awesome cellar. Your garden’s so pretty too, how lucky you are to live there.

The Cream Tea finished the day off beautifully, your right, we didn’t feel hungry, lunch was very filling and extremely delicious.

I’d recommend your tour to anyone and when were next in England, perhaps we’ll book Secret Cottage again.

My wife and I recently spent a delightful day touring Cotswold villages with Becky and Robin team. Ian's knowledge of the area, his colourful stories of there was excellent. The wonderful breakfast, lunch and English afternoon tea was above our expectation. They were so kind to make an anniversary cake for us which made the day unforgettable for us! My wife and I agreed that it was our best touring experience ever and we would highly recommend Becky and Robin’s Secret Cottage Tour.

When I came on this tour, from beginning to end it was a exceptional experience. I really enjoyed looking at all the beautiful villages and I found it really interesting. The food offered was amazing as well especially the homemade scones and tea. A wonderful trip and I certainly got my moneys worth.

It had been our dream for many years to visit England, especially the Cotswolds. We were advised to take a tour because of all the tiny villages and winding narrow roads - something we are not familiar with in Hong Kong.

You took us to the most beautiful villages and places we would never have found on our own. For us to experience life in an ancient English cottage too, was unbelievable. Becky we loved your warm scones. Thank you so much.

Thank you Becky for such an amazing day spent exploring the secret life of The Costwolds.

We wanted something that would show us what it really feels like to live deep in the heart of the beautiful British countryside. We had visited the area once before and really enjoyed it and this time we were looking for something a little bit different. We came across Secret Cottage.

As soon as we arrived at this beautiful chocolate box cottage we knew we were in for a treat. We sat back and relaxed as we were transported back in time. Using Secret Cottage as our base it is hard to say which we preferred more, the amazing food and hospitality of our host or our little trips out to get a secret glimpse of hidden Cotswold gems, places normally hidden away from the public eye. We felt as though we had entered another world. A truly unique experience and a day we will never forget.

This year my husband and I made a new years resolution to get to know our local area.
There are so many great places on our doorstep in the North Cotswolds but we only knew a fraction of them.
We checked out various tour companies and after numerous recommendations, settled on Becky at Secret Cottage.
We couldn't have chosen better!

We were made to feel like special guests from the moment we were picked up and to visit her house and be treated to such amazing food was a real treat. The food was excellent, the scenery was breath-taking and we've learned about hidden places we never
knew existed.

We've already booked to take the tour again in autumn when the colours will be at their best.
We're looking forward to more great food in front of Becky's fire!
